Planning a wedding can be a big deal. It can be a lot of fun when it comes to different parts of it, but it can also be quite stressful with all of the decisions that you need to make. So how do you enjoy the process and tick all the boxes you want for your big day? I wanted to share with you some of the unspoken rules to help you plan your wedding perfectly.
Do plenty of research
One of the first things any person planning a wedding should do is research. Looking through bridal magazines for some ideas, checking out Pinterest for inspiration and reading up on websites like The Wedding Gallery to help you navigate the wedding planning process are all good ideas. The research will have yo getting ideas for what you might want to do. From the type of party you want in the evening and the entertainment, to the homemade invites you want to create. It is always a good idea to have a bank of ideas stored away as this can help you make other decisions along the way such as the right venue and food options, for example.
Make sure you try on lots of wedding dresses
The next thing to think about would be the dress. Tis can actually be a highlight of the wedding planning process and one many brides to be look forward to. However, you can also be a little blinded when it comes to choosing the right dress for you. You may have an idea of what might work best, or suit your figure, but don’t let that deter you from trying on different types of dresses to ensure that you are sure about the style. You may find that one you have previously dismissed due to style, shape or material actually looks amazing when it is on. The unspoken rule is to try on all of the dresses and have fun doing it.
Don’t be afraid to add your own spin on things
Some people are so afraid to add their own personality to the proceedings, but it is your day, after all. Staying traditional is a good thing, and that can really help you build up the general look of your day. But if you want to add different elements, a group first dance instead of just you as a couple, or little surprises along the way then go for it. Don’t be afraid to make sure you and your partner’s personality shine through. You are celebrating your love and commitment together, so it needs to be all about you. Which brings me nicely on to my last point.
Remember it is your day
You need to remember that it is your day. It is you and your partners chance to declare your wish to commit to one another, your love and desire to be together. However, it can be hard to remember that throughout the wedding planning process as people will always have an opinion on what you are doing and what might be best, but while it is good to listen, ultimately do what you want to do.
I hope that this will guide you through your wedding planning journey.
